LIST of QR Code Registration Portals in the Philippines

(Updated 01/10/2022) Since the pandemic started, several quick response (QR) code system has been established by local government units (LGUs), government institutions and private entities to provide an accessible contact tracing network.

In public health, contact tracing is the process of identifying persons who may have come into contact with an infected person and subsequent collection of further information about these contacts. (Wikipedia)

In National Capital Region (NCR) or Metro Manila alone, almost all the 16 cities had their own unique QR code systems when the pandemic started. Meanwhile, in other regions like Eastern Visayas, several cities, towns, and provinces also use different QR portals such as the Tacloban Safe City, Baybay BC Pass, Secure Biliran, and ARK Maasin City.

The advantage of having different QR Code systems in the Philippines is it’s unique to one another, and we can see several LGUs step up in terms of digital connectivity. Its disadvantage is that individuals need to create accounts on different portals to travel from one city/town/province to another.

This is why the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) asked local government units (LGUs) to use the "StaySafe.Ph" app as the official COVID-19 contact tracing app and integrate their current QR code networks with it. It will also be a  way for the Philippines to have a unified QR Code system once LGUs merge their data with StaySafe.Ph.

Meanwhile, all provinces require an S-PaSS account to enter their premises if a person will travel via bus. The S-PaSS portal also provides a unique QR code that travelers can use upon traveling either inter-regional or inter-provincial, together with a travel pass. [Know the step-by-step guide here: How to Create and Register an S-PaSS Account Online.]

Per the directives of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), LGUs must use the government-owned app "StaySafe.PH.' People may directly register on their website if they are located in an LGU which uses the said app.

Note: DILG advised LGUs to use the "StaySafe.PH" portal for contact tracing purposes. DILG Spokeperson Malaya said that "Stay Safe app" is currently being used by some 15 Million individual users and some 700 LGUs across the country. DILG aims to reach at least 50 Million users and connect all 1,634 city and municipal LGUs across the country. You can register for an StaySafe.PH account here.
