Here are the newest travel requirements and guidelines for individuals who are bound for Tacloban City. PHOTO: LGU Tacloban/Facebook

Updated 10/30/21: Travelers are not required to register anymore under the Balik Tacloban project due to EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2021-10-39 signed on October 29, 2021. This means that the previous guidelines for traveling to Tacloban are hereby lifted for ALL INDIVIDUALS.

Registration for the Balik Tacloban project, as well as the submission of documents and a negative COVID-19 test result, will no longer be required for Tacloban-bound travelers.

Updated 10/19/2021: Travelers from "high-risk areas" who are bound for Tacloban City must now present a negative COVID-19 test result or proof of full vaccination as a requirement for the release of the acceptance letter when applying on the Balik Tacloban website.
This is due to the escalation of Tacloban City's quarantine status from MGCQ to GCQ, as well as the release of the new quarantine classifications by the National IATF (Resolution No. 141-A Series of 2021). The list of high-risk areas can be found here.

If you're bound for Tacloban City soon, either through direct flights or land travel, you must know the new travel requirements and guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic to avoid delays and further inconvenience on your part.

Note: Some information might have changed since Tacloban City has been placed again under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) classification status along with the whole Eastern Visayas Region.

In this article, individuals going to Tacloban City will know the necessary documents that must be presented upon arrival in the city since LGU Tacloban has been strict again in checkpoints and borderline control points due to the surge of new COVID-19 cases. [Related: Tacloban City recorded 112 new COVID-19 cases in one day.]

But before anything else, you must register under the BALIK TACLOBAN project to go here in Tacloban if you are a Returning Tacloban Resident (RTR).

Traveling via land or bus? You need to register for an S-Pass account. Go here for the step-by-step guide. You may also need to prepare a StaySafe.ph QR code upon entering in establishments in areas outside Tacloban City.
