Eastern Visayas sets its HIGHEST-EVER recorded COVID-19 cases in a day at 572

 
Eastern Visayas region sets its HIGHEST-EVER record for active COVID-19 cases in a day at 572. Meanwhile, Tacloban City recorded 112 new COVID-19 cases today, June 10, 2021.


TACLOBAN CITY —  As of 10 AM today, June 10, 2021, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 23,338, total recoveries at 20,948 (89.76%), and total deaths at 332 (1.42%). This brings the total active cases to 2,058 (8.82%). 

A total of 572 new cases were recorded today out of the 1,855 laboratory samples tested in four (4) COVID-19 laboratories.  Of these, 567 were tested in the three COVID-19 laboratories in the region -  the EVRMC, the OMDC, and the DWHVL.  While five (5) cases were reported by the Philippine Red Cross in Cebu City. The total number of new cases represents a 30.84% positivity rate. 

The EVRCTC has released a total of 1,240 laboratory results. Of these, 767 are negative and 473 are positive (with 469 new cases, 3 re-swabs, and 1 re-infection) for COVID-19.


Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 338 laboratory results. Of these, 264 are negative and 74 are positive (with 65 new cases and 9 re-swabs) for COVID-19.

Whereas, the OMDC has released a total of 152 laboratory samples.  Of these, 119 are negative and 33 are positive with COVID-19.

Likewise, the Philippine Red Cross of Cebu City has released a total of 125 laboratory samples from Eastern Visayas. Of these, 120 are negative and 5 are positive for COVID-19.
