Why do we need to register our TNT SIM cards?

As mandated by the SIM Registration Act, it is necessary to register your TNT SIM card. This act aims to protect users from any crimes committed using a SIM card, the internet, or electronic communication.

Such crimes include but are not limited to terrorism, text scams, unsolicited lewd or obscene messages, bank fraud, libel, anonymous online defamation, trolling, hate speech, and the spread of digital disinformation or fake news.

What happens if I don't register my SIM card?

If you fail to register your TNT SIM card, it is important to note that the Philippine government requires all mobile network providers to implement strict measures to ensure that all users' SIM cards are registered to help prevent illegal activities done through SMS.

As a consequence, your SIM Card will be deactivated. This means that you won't be able to make or receive calls, send or receive text messages, or access the internet using your TNT SIM card.

Conclusion

Registering your TNT SIM card is easy and only takes a few minutes, as long as you have the necessary requirements. By registering, not only will you comply with government regulations, but you will also protect yourself from fraud and identity theft.

Moreover, registering your TNT SIM card enables you to take advantage of TNT's network services and promotions without interruption.
