TACLOBAN CITY – AirAsia has become a stronghold in this city as the airline continues to expand its flight services in the region. According to AirAsia Country Head for Communications and Public Affairs, Steve Dailisan, the airline operates four flights daily from Tacloban to Manila using Airbus planes.

During a media catch-up with journalists in Leyte and Samar, First Officer Dailisan revealed that as of March 23, 2023, the airline had already sold out 180,000 seats for its flight schedules in Tacloban.

He added that the airline is now eyeing Calbayog City Airport in Samar and Ormoc City Airport in Leyte for possible flight expansions.

To encourage more tourists to visit the destinations in Region 8, AirAsia has launched an "All Seats, All Flights" sale, offering a 20% discount on domestic and international flights booked between March 27 and April 2, 2023. The promotion is valid for travel until December 14, 2023.

AirAsia also assured its guests of their luggage's proper handling and safety during the flight.

Steve Dailisan, a former news reporter for GMA 7, is now a pilot for AirAsia.

With the airline's growing presence in the region, AirAsia is poised to boost tourism in Eastern Visayas and provide more convenient travel options for locals and tourists alike. —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
