TACLOBAN CITY — The upcoming Mayor's Employment Generation Activity (MEGA) job fair in this city is set to offer over 2,600 job opportunities, including 634 local job orders and 2,000 overseas job openings. The event is scheduled on March 31, 2023, at the People Center and Library located on Real Street.

Katherine P. Singzon, PESO Development Management Officer, confirmed during a recent interview on the City Information Office (CIO) Radio Program that the job fair will feature the participation of 41 local employers and six overseas employment agencies.

The companies include well-known names such as SM, SM Appliances, Robinsons Supermarket, Machica Group, and MacDonalds. Overseas employment agencies participating in the job fair include Safe Future Manpower Agency, Maanyag International Manpower Corp., and 1st Northern International Placement, Inc.

Singzon emphasized that the job fair is open to job seekers from all municipalities, not just Tacloban City residents. The PESO has partnered with schools to help inform alumni about the event.

To make the most of the job fair, participants are advised to bring all required employment documents, including a resume or personal data sheet, birth certificate, certificate of employment, police and NBI clearances, TIN, and passport (if seeking overseas employment).

The event also aims to promote government employment-related programs, and representatives from several national government agencies will be present.

This MEGA job fair provides a unique opportunity for job seekers to explore various employment options in one location. It also allows employers to connect with a diverse pool of potential candidates. Ultimately, the job fair is a significant initiative that will help boost the local economy and support the city's economic growth. —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
