A total of four (4) Multi-Purpose Buildings (MPBs) have been constructed in the municipalities of Tarangnan and Pagsanghan in the province of Samar, according to Samar First District Engineering Office.

These projects are funded under the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for the Fiscal Year 2021, with a total contract value of Php 10.97 million for the duration of the fiscal year.

The health center and covered court in Tarangnan, Samar, are among the facilities housed in the multi-purpose buildings. It is hoped that the newly constructed health center in Brgy. Tigdaranano will provide more efficient and improved health services to the community, particularly in light of the ongoing health pandemic.

In addition, the newly constructed multi-purpose building in Poblacion serves as a covered court for Tarangnan Elementary Central School, which already has a stage for performances. The aforementioned MPB will serve as a gathering place for recreational and social activities for students and faculty members of the aforementioned elementary school.

The multi-purpose building in Brgy. San Luis, Pagsanghan, Samar, on the other hand, has completed its second phase. It completed the construction of comfort rooms for both men and women, which are conveniently located next to the covered court and are especially useful when holding various events for the community.

Aside from that, the multi-purpose building in Brgy. Calanyugan, Pagsanghan, Samar contains classrooms that will accommodate more students in order to provide more students with access to high-quality educational opportunities.

Following the completion of these projects, the people and the entire community will be more involved in the various affairs of their respective barangays. —Tacloban News Update (Source: DWPH-8)
