The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) will release an improved version of GSIS Touch, a mobile app that gives members and pensioners instant access to their GSIS records via their mobile phones, on February 25.

"We are pleased to present the improved version of our GSIS Touch. We will be able to provide a safer, faster, and more convenient way to transact with our clients as a result of its latest features and upgraded functionalities," Rolando Ledesma Macasaet, President and General Manager (PGM) of GSIS, stated.

Active members can now generate tentative computations of their loan and claim benefits and submit loan and claim applications using the enhanced GSIS Touch.

They can also view their membership and insurance policy records, keep track of their premium remittances and loan payments, and check their dividends, among other things.

"Pensioners can also request an APIR interview schedule at their leisure. They can also use the app to view their monthly pension records and loan payments," Macasaet added.

Furthermore, the app now recognizes a user's fingerprint or facial image for login when using a smartphone with biometrics capability/feature.

GSIS Touch also gives you access to the online Guide to Transactions and Processes (GTAP). GTAP is the Philippine government's first electronic Citizen's Charter (a step-by-step guide to essential frontline services).

The mobile app also includes instructions on how to download the Motor Vehicle (MV) Claim app for government agencies and individual clients who have vehicles insured with GSIS.

The GSIS Touch also provides access to a directory of branch offices and the most recent GSIS news. The GSIS Information Technology Services Group created the app entirely in-house.
