TACLOBAN — The use of the online travel management platform S-PaSS is no longer required in Maasin City and throughout Southern Leyte per the latest Executive Order No. 58 or "An Order Implementing Alert Level 2 in the Province of Southern Leyte" signed by the Provincial Governor on December 2, 2021.

Individuals traveling to Maasin City and other destinations under the jurisdiction of the Province of Southern Leyte must present the following documents upon entry, according to the new travel requirements:

  • Vaccination Card/Certificate (for fully vaccinated)
  • Province/city QR code; and
  • Valid identification card

Those who have not been vaccinated may present a Medical Clearance issued by the City/Municipal Health Office and/or the Provincial Health Office certifying their ineligibility for vaccination. Children under the age of 12 are only permitted to travel if accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians.

Unvaccinated individuals who do not have proof of ineligibility for vaccination may only enter the province if they have a negative RT-PCR result dated within five (5) days of the date of travel.

Checkpoints at provincial borders must continue to operate for the mandatory inspection of QR codes and vaccination cards for interzonal and intrazonal travelers, while minimum public health standards, including but not limited to physical distancing, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, and the use of face masks, are strictly enforced.

Since S-PaSS is no longer required, travelers who want to go to Maasin City and other areas in Southern Leyte are not required anymore to apply for a Travel Coordination Permit. —Tacloban News Update
