| Eastern Visayas recorded 473 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths, and 655 recoveries today, June 15, 2021. Meanwhile, Tacloban City recorded 93 new cases. |
TACLOBAN CITY — As of 10 AM today, June 17, 2021, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 25,466, total recoveries at 22,918 (89.99%), and total deaths at 355 (1.39%). This brings the total active cases to 2,193 (8.61%).
A total of 473 new cases were recorded today out of the 1,339 laboratory samples. Of these, 467 were tested in the three (3) COVID-19 laboratories in the region - the EVRMC, the OMDC, and the DWHVL. While six (6) cases were reported by the Philippine Red Cross Cebu Molecular Laboratory in Cebu City. The total number of cases represents a 35.35% positivity rate.
The EVRCTC has released a total of 830 laboratory results. Of these, 458 are negative and 372 are positive (with 369 new cases and 3 re-swabs) for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 319 laboratory results. Of these, 222 are negative and 97 are positive (with 82 new cases, 2 re-infections, and 13 re-swabs) for COVID-19.
Whereas, the OMDC has released a total of 131 laboratory results. Of these, 115 are negative and 16 are positive for COVID-19.
While the Philippine Red Cross Cebu Molecular Laboratory released a total of 58 cases coming from Eastern Visayas. Of these, 52 are negative and 6 were positive for COVID-19.
