Tacloban City extends ban on nightclubs, beerhouses, and KTVs

LGU Tacloban's order on the temporary closure of nightclubs, beerhouses, karaoke bars extended until June 22. 

TACLOBAN CITY — Tacloban City government extended its ban on nightclubs, bars, beer houses, KTVs/karaoke from operating until June 22, 2021.

City Mayor Alfred Romualdez signed yesterday, June 15, 2021, an addendum to EO No. 2021-06-024 prohibiting said establishments from operating for another week in view of the continuing rise of COVID 19 cases.


Under Executive Order No. 2021-06-24, the following activities and operations shall be regulated as follows:

1. Nightclubs, bars, beer houses, KTVs/karaoke bars shall not be allowed to operate for a period of one (1) week from the effectivity of this Executive Order.

2.Hotels, inns, pension/lodging houses, and similar establishments shall require the presentation of a negative RT-PCR, Saliva, or Rapid Antigen test taken not later than at least 3 days prior to admission of guests. No guests shall be admitted for purposes of quarantine/isolation, except by those establishments identified by the City Health Office as quarantine/isolation facilities. The operation of ancillary establishments within the premises (i.e. restaurants, cafes, etc.) shall observe the relevant health protocols imposed by the City Government.


3. All other business establishments shall continue to observe the strict implementation of minimum health standards and shall implement their own policies and procedures in consonance and compliance with the health and sanitation protocols laid down by the City Government and health authorities on COVID-19 prevention.

Aside from E.O. 2021-06-024, an Executive Order was issued in April requiring all travelers to Tacloban City from "high-risk" regions to undergo  RT-PCR Test. The swab test will be required from individuals coming from the said areas. —Tacloban News Update
