Tacloban New Bus Terminal temporarily relocated due to skywalk construction

The Tacloban New Bus Terminal undergoes temporary relocation as construction begins for a skywalk connecting the terminal to a nearby mall.

TACLOBAN CITY – Due to ongoing construction plans, the Tacloban New Bus Terminal has been temporarily relocated to the rear area adjacent to the terminal's extension. The terminal relocation decision was made on Friday, July 7.

According to a staff member at the terminal, buses arriving from Luzon, particularly those headed for Manila, have been directed to park temporarily at the nearby Eco Park (Abucay Park).

The primary reason behind this temporary relocation is the forthcoming construction of a skywalk or pedestrian overcrossing, spearheaded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). This skywalk will connect the terminal building to the adjacent mall, providing a convenient and safe passage for commuters.

The construction project aims to enhance connectivity between the bus terminal and the mall, promoting easier access and seamless travel for passengers. While the construction work is underway, the temporary relocation of the bus terminal will ensure minimal disruption to daily operations and maintain smooth traffic flow in the area.

Local authorities have expressed their commitment to keeping passengers informed about the temporary changes in the bus terminal's location. Signages and announcements have been put up at the previous terminal site, guiding passengers to the temporary location at the rear area.  —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
