TACLOBAN CITY – This city is gearing up for an employment event as the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 prepares to host the Kalayaan Job Fair. With over 3,400 job openings available, this event presents a golden opportunity for jobseekers in the region.

On June 12, job hunters can head to Robinsons North in Abucay, Tacloban City, where 45 local employers will be eagerly seeking potential candidates to fill a wide range of positions. Industries represented at the job fair include merchandising, finance, healthcare, engineering, hospitality, customer service, and sales.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-8) has introduced an online registration system to streamline the registration process. Jobseekers can secure their spot in advance by visiting the link:

The Kalayaan Job Fair goes beyond simply connecting jobseekers with employers. It also features a One Stop Shop of government agencies, offering various frontline services to assist jobseekers in their employment journey.

Attendees will have access to various resources and support, ensuring a holistic approach to job hunting.

Moreover, the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region 8 will provide free skills demonstrations during the event. Attendees can learn practical skills such as haircutting, manicure/pedicure, and massage, enhancing their employability and widening their career options.

In addition to the job fair, the DOLE-8, through its North Leyte Field Office, will also celebrate the World Day Against Child Labor by organizing Project Angel Tree activities. Coordinated with the Regional Council Against Child Labor (RCACL), this initiative aims to support child laborers and their families through gift-giving and orientation on youth employment programs. —iTacloban (Source: DOLE-8)
