TACLOBAN CITY – Leyte Province is hosting the highly anticipated "Layag Leyte: Fiesta Bonanza Trade Expo 2023" to commemorate the ongoing fiesta season. This exciting event brings together over 55 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) eager to showcase their diverse product offerings.

The trade expo, held at Robinsons Place Tacloban from June 23 to 27, aims to revitalize the local economy, promote local businesses, and foster inclusive growth.

Araceli Larraga, the provincial director of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Leyte, expressed her excitement about the trade expo and its potential impact. She emphasized that the event is an excellent platform to generate sales for Leyte MSMEs, showcasing the DTI's commitment to enabling innovative, competitive, and job-generating businesses while empowering consumers.

The participating MSMEs showcase an extensive range of products at the trade expo, including wearables, homestyle items, processed food, processed fruits, nuts, cacao, and coconut-based products. Inspired by the success of previous marketing events, the DTI has set an ambitious target of achieving PHP2.5 million in sales throughout the event.

Building upon the impressive sales performance of Leyte MSMEs in past provincial and regional fairs, which averaged around PHP90,000 per MSME, the DTI Leyte aims to surpass previous achievements and elevate the standard even higher. The trade expo provides a unique setting to showcase new and improved products, allowing MSMEs to expand their market reach and increase sales.

The Fiesta Bonanza Trade Expo 2023 offers a vibrant and festive atmosphere, coinciding with the ongoing fiesta celebrations in the province. It serves as a testament to local businesses' entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, providing a platform to celebrate Leyte's rich culture and craftsmanship.

Visitors and attendees can look forward to a delightful experience as they explore the wide range of products on display, supporting local entrepreneurs and contributing to the growth of the local economy. —iTacloban (Source: PNA)
