TACLOBAN CITY – The Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO) celebrated the culmination of National Women's Month by conducting a Community Outreach Activity in the towns of Palo, Pastrana, Tolosa, and Tanauan, Leyte on March 31, 2023.

The event was led by Police Colonel Edwin C Balles, Provincial Director of LPPO, in line with the celebration's theme, "WE are for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society."

During the activity, Police Captain Zenaiah P. Sudio, the Supply and Logistics Officer, personally handed over 40 sacks (5kg) of rice from the Leyte Provincial Government, led by Governor Carlos Jericho L Petilla, to the beneficiaries of the municipal police stations.

The 20 empowered single mothers from the four towns in Leyte received the donations.

Colonel Balles stated that the goal of the activity was to provide happiness and show that the police are always ready to help and provide knowledge to the community for the betterment of the town. The event also recognized the need to promote equal rights for women to demonstrate their significant role in society during Women's Month.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to LPPO for their efforts to support and assist them. They stated that the donations would undoubtedly alleviate some of their financial difficulties and help them provide for their families. —iTacloban (Source: PCADG-EV)
