President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. highlighted the exceptional quality of Filipino-made products and services during the "Tanyag" event hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry's Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) Taguig City.

The "Tanyag" event is a formal export trade networking activity showcases Philippine-made products and services to government agencies, business leaders, and trade diplomatic partners worldwide. It is also a Filipino term that means notable, famous, celebrated, and outstanding, accurately describing the essence of Filipino products and services due to their unique quality that sets them apart from others, according to the president.

President Marcos acknowledged the crucial role domestic and foreign trade partners, organizations, and stakeholders played in the country's export performance during the event.

He highlighted the various initiatives and reforms his administration has undertaken to make the country an ideal player in the export sector, providing a conducive environment for businesses to thrive. The Marcos government is actively working to enhance the country's infrastructure and develop domestic capabilities necessary for the growth and development of the export sector.

Currently, the Philippines holds the world record for being the largest producer of coconut, pineapple, and abaca. In addition, the country maintains its spot as the sixth-largest exporter in the ASEAN region, with 84% of processed exports.

Meanwhile, DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual encouraged attendees to promote and support Philippine-made products, making them visible and accessible globally.

He expressed his commitment to bringing Filipino products to every continent worldwide, saying, "Let us make globally visible and accessible Philippine-made products happen together." The DTI is fast-tracking the completion of the Philippine Export Development Plan 2023-2028, a comprehensive plan that aligns the priorities of stakeholders, produces quality export products, and expands its reach worldwide.

Edward L. Fereira, the Executive Director of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), pledged to develop, nurture, and promote small and medium entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and exporters, using an integrated approach to export marketing in collaboration with other government and private entities. He also aims to establish strong relationships with foreign embassies and consulates to promote Filipino products and services.

The event featured the unveiling of CITEM's new logo, signifying the agency's renewed dedication to promoting export, organizing various trade shows, and participating in global trade fairs.

Attendees of the event included House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Sen. Mark Villar, Presidential Adviser for Creative Communications Paul Soriano, and former DTI Sec. Ramon Lopez. Vice President and Department of Education Secretary Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio greeted the attendees with a recorded message.
