Wanted person arrested by Leyte PNP while attempting to get police clearance

TACLOBAN CITY – A construction worker's attempt to secure a police clearance led to his arrest by authorities in Tabango, Leyte on February 27, 2023. 

The suspect, Erick, a 38-year-old resident of Sito Buho 2 in Barangay Tugas, Tabango, was apprehended by personnel from the Tabango Municipal Police Station (MPS) while processing his application for a police clearance at the Tabango MPS in Barangay Poblacion.

Acting Chief of Police, Police Captain Carmelo I Gacho, stated that Erick's record showed an outstanding warrant of arrest for violating RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act of 2004. The warrant of arrest included a recommended bail amount of Php 24,000.00. Erick was taken into custody for processing and further legal action.
