P9 million in AICS financial aid, distributed in Tacloban City

TACLOBAN CITY – More than 3,000 people received financial assistance under the government's Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program yesterday, November 30, which was course through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Tacloban City Local Government Unit.

Senator Imee Romualdez Marcos was the guest of honor at the presentation of the financial aid in Tacloban Astrodome.

"Tuloy-tuloy ang pamamahagi natin ng ayuda sa Tacloban City noong Miyerkules, Nobyembre 30. Kasama ko po si Mayor Alfred Romuladez sa pamimigay ng tulong pinansyal sa tatlong libong (3000) benepisyaryo ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations galing sa Department of Social Welfare and Development [We continue to distribute aid in Tacloban City on Wednesday, November 30. I am with Mayor Alfred Romuladez in handing out financial aid to three thousand (3000) beneficiaries of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations from the Department of Social Welfare and Development]," Marcos said in a statement.

According to Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez, as he previously promised, the national government's financial aid is still the same amount that the recipients will receive, even if it is channeled through the local government.

The assistance is part of the government's recovery efforts to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.
