DPWH 8, PRO 8 inaugurates another TIKAS-funded building

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 8 and Police Regional Office (PRO) 8 inaugurated this morning, 14 June 2022 a new building at PRO 8, Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte.

The newly inaugurated building worth Php 29-million has been formally turned over by DPWH Regional Director Allan S. Borromeo to PRO 8. This facility will serve as a classroom and other offices’ inside the PRO 8 grounds.

In his message, RD Borromeo bared that this project has been funded under the DPWH-PNP convergence program also known as “Tatag ng Imprastruktura Para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad” (TIKAS) for the benefit of the members of national forces.

Said infrastructure is a 3-storey concrete building with a floor area of 1225.50-square meters and was implemented by DPWH Regional Office 8.


RD Borromeo also underscored the strong and effective collaboration between the infra-agency and PNP, which in turn brings mutual benefit wherein DPWH accomplishes quality police buildings and facilities, while the PNP officers help with securing project implementations in the region.

“Today’s turn-over ceremony and inauguration is a celebration of effective collaboration between inter-agencies. We are proud to recognize the brave efforts that you and your officers have imparted not just to the community but more importantly to your institution’s efforts in the security of our project implementations.” RD Borromeo said.

PRO8 RD Police Brigadier General Bernard M. Banac thanked RD Borromeo for the usual support and accommodation in providing the needs of the PNP officials.  

“I’m thankful to DPWH for the steadfast support in realizing all projects under the DPWH-PNP convergence program.” PBGen Banac said. 

The two officials led the unveiling of the building marker, the giving of symbolic key, and the ceremonial signing of the certificate of Turn-over of Responsibility and acceptance of the newly completed infrastructure.

This building is the second TIKAS project implemented by DPWH RO8 turned over to PNP this year. (DPWH/CPDM)
