TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. 8 received the second-best video documentation for the individual category in the recently concluded 2022 Kabuhayan Awards, which were held on May 27, 2022, at the New Coast Hotel in Manila.
DOLE-RO8 competed against 15 other DOLE regional offices in this year's national search for Best DOLE-Assisted Livelihood Projects, with the following entries: Mr. Roy Valera of Balangkayan, Eastern Samar won the individual category, and the Lanawan Farmers Association of MacArthur, Leyte won the group category with their videography project. Its individual entry, Videography project, was fortunate enough to place in the Top 5 of the competition.
As the keynote speaker, Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III congratulated all regional nominees and thanked them for their dedication and commitment to ensuring the success of their respective livelihood projects.
DOLE-RO8 was awarded a plaque and a cash prize of P15,000.00 for winning the second-best video documentation.
The Best Performing Field Office Focal Persons of DOLE-RO8, Ms. Gemma D. de la Cruz for Livelihood and Ms. Imelda M. Codilan for TUPAD, were also recognized during the awarding ceremony, as was the Local Government Unit of Catarman for the Best LGU category.
Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena praised DOLE-RO8 officials and staff for their efforts and encouraged them to improve in next year's competition. —iTacloban (Source: DOLE Region 8)
