What are the requirements in applying for a National ID (PhilID)?

Applicants should bring an original copy of at least one (1) of the following:

Primary Documents

  • PSA-issued Certificate of Live Birth and one (1) government-issued identification document with full name, front-facing photograph, and signature or thumb mark.
  • DFA-issued Philippine Passport or ePassport;
  • GSIS or SSS-issued Unified Multi-purpose Identification Card (UMID);  and
  • Land Transportation Office (LTO)-issued Student's License Permit or Non-Professional/Professional Driver's License.

The identification documents listed below will be accepted as secondary supporting documents if they have a front-facing photograph, signature or thumbmark, full name, permanent address, and date of birth.

  • Give Filipinos more power over their personal data. The PhilSys will allow PSN holders to control who sees what data about them while conducting transactions using the PhilSys, contributing to increased transparency and responsibility for utilizing data in the Philippines.
