Ten modern PUJs now ply Palanog-Tacloban route

TACLOBAN CITY – On Friday, April 1, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Eastern Visayas (LTFRB-8) and Tacloban Palanog Transport Cooperative (TAPATCO) launched ten (10) modern public utility jeepneys (PUJs) that will ply the Palanog-Tacloban route and vice versa.

Gualberto N. Gualberto, Regional Director, granted a provisional authority, which was accepted by Mr. Ricardo H. Dasal, who thanked the LTFRB for all of its assistance throughout the application process and the LandBank of the Philippines, Tacloban Center Lending for the approved units.

Mr. Raymond Ogsimer, General Manager of AUTOKID Tacloban, handed over the key, which was followed by the cutting of the ribbon.

Tacloban City Administrator Atty. Anacleto Rei "Jojo" Lacanilao III, representing Mayor Alfred S. Romuladez, and Mr. Albert Eviota, representing both Ferdinand S. Romualdez-House Majority Floor Leader, Representative, 1st District of Leyte, and Hon. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez-Representative, TINGOG Partylist, as well as other key officials, were present.

Officials praised LTFRB Region 8 for its tremendous efforts in providing a better public transportation system in the Region.

Also present in the event to show their support were:  Mr. Eugene M. Pabualan - OIC Chairman, OTC, Atty. Christian Oberio - Legal Officer, OTC, Officials and Tanods of Brgy. 103 Palanog led by Hon. Selvino Baldesco - Chairman, Hon. Eduardo Tan - Chairman, Brgy. 12 Palanog, Hon. Artemio Ensigne -Chairman, Brgy. 37 Palanog, the members and drivers of TAPATCO, and the staff of TINGOG Partylist.
