Entrepreneurs in Tacloban North given start-up capital

TACLOBAN CITY — Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez distributed five thousand pesos (P5,000.00) starting capital to "pabahay" residents who attended the Department of Trade and Industry's (DTI) Financial Management Training on October 19 in Tacloban North.

According to Chona A. Bahin, City Social Welfare and Development Officer (CSWDO), the initiative is a collaborative effort between the Tacloban City government, the National Housing Authority (NHA), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the CSWDO, and the North Tacloban City Hall Extension.

CSWD Officer Bahin also added that 39 entrepreneurs from Pope Francis Village, Villa Sofia, and Greendale will receive a P5,000 investment to start a business or additional funding for their existing businesses.

The Financial Management training's objective is to make it easier for any business to use money effectively. Additionally, Mayor Romualdez will provide additional financial assistance, such as burial and medical aid. —Tacloban News Updated (Source: Tacloban - CIO)
