TACLOBAN CITY — Two hundred ninety-nine (299) pedicab drivers in Tacloban City were vaccinated through mobile vaccination at the City Engineer's Gymnasium (CEO Gym) of Tacloban City Sports Office on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

The pedicab drivers received inoculation for their first dose of the Sinovac vaccine as Tacloban draws closer to achieving herd immunity.

City Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez visited the vaccination site together with his son and founder of Hiraya Foundation, Raymond Romualdez. Mayor Romualdez thanked everyone who showed up to get vaccinated and emphasized the importance of such individuals and businesses in the betterment of Tacloban as a highly-urbanized city (HUC).

The mobile vaccination held at CEO Gym was planned and organized by the City mayor's Office and the Business Permit and Licensing Division.

After the inoculation, food assistance was given to the pedicab drivers, which was made possible by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the office of the Community Livelihood and Extension Program (CLEP). —Tacloban News Update (Source: L. Jopson/Tacloban-CIO)
