Eastern Visayas recorded 412 new COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths, and 222 new recoveries

 

412 new COVID-19 cases, five (5) deaths, and 222 new recoveries recorded today, June 11, 2021, in Eastern Visayas Region.


TACLOBAN CITY — As of 11 AM today, June 11, 2021, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 23,748, total recoveries at 21,170 (89.14%), and total deaths at 337 (1.42%). This brings the total active cases to 2,241 (9.44%). 

A total of 412 new cases were recorded today out of the 1,626 laboratory samples tested in four (4) COVID-19 laboratories.  Of these, 394 were tested in the three COVID-19 laboratories in the region -  the EVRMC, the OMDC, and the DWHVL.  While seventeen (17) cases were reported by the Philippine Red Cross Cebu Molecular Laboratory in Cebu City and an additional case was endorsed by the Cebu Doctors Hospital Inc. Molecular Laboratory. The total number of new cases represents a 25.34% positivity rate. 

The EVRCTC has released a total of 875 laboratory results. Of these, 555 are negative and 320 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 391 laboratory results. Of these, 326 are negative and 65 are positive (with 52 new cases and 13 re-swabs) for COVID-19.

Whereas, the OMDC has released a total of 126 laboratory samples.  Of these, 104 are negative and 22 are positive with COVID-19.

Likewise, the Philippine Red Cross Cebu Molecular Laboratory has released a total of 234 laboratory samples from Eastern Visayas. Of these, 217 are negative and 17 are positive for COVID-19.

  • EV-22911 – a 69-year old female from Calbayog City who died on June 10, 2021;
  • EV-20904 – a 31-year old male from Matuguinao, Samar who died on June 8, 2021;
  • EV-21770 -  a 77-year old male from Calbayog City who died on June 3, 2021;
  • EV-20641 -  an 80-year old female from Sogod, Southern Leyte who died on June 5, 2021, and;
  • EV-21504 – a 23-year old male from Sogod, Southern Leyte who died on June 9, 2021.
