TACLOBAN — Tacloban City is now under the more lenient modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until May 31, Malacañang said Friday.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the changes in quarantine status were due to the appeals of Tacloban's local government unit (LGU).

Under MGCQ, more industries can operate, transport services will be expanded, mobility will increase and more people can gather while tourism and leisure activities are allowed.

Minimum health standards will stay in all areas placed under MGCQ which means wearing of face mask and face shields should be observed while maintaining physical distancing.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) also said that individuals ages 15 to 17 years old and above 65 years old to leave their residence to register for the Philippine Identification System. —Tacloban News Update (Source: Inquirer/PTV/Reportr
