1.5M Sinovac vaccine doses arrive in the country

PASAY CITY/By National Task Force against COVID-19 — Some 1.5M doses of Sinovac’s CoronaVac vaccine arrived in the country at 7:59 AM today, May 7, the single biggest delivery made by the China-based manufacturer so far.

To date, the country has received a total of 5,540,600 doses of anti-COVID vaccines, which include 5 million Sinovac doses, 525,600 AstraZeneca doses, and 15,000 Gamaleya doses.




Secretary Carlito G Galvez, Jr., National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar, earlier said that the government also expects the delivery of AstraZeneca as well as Pfizer vaccines under the COVAX facility within this second quarter.


The government has administered more than 2 million anti-COVID shots since it rolled out the national vaccine program in March. (National Task Force against COVID-19)
