TACLOBAN CITY — In light of the continued effort of the local government to provide job opportunities to deserving youth, Tacloban LGU was granted a P1 million pesos funding from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the city's Government Internship Program (GIP).

According to Tacloban City Public Employment Service Office (TC-PESO)  Manager Emilia A. Cruz, the GIP program will give opportunities to youth aged 18 to 35 years old.

" It is an internship program that will provide temporary employment to high school graduates, college drop-outs, and out-of-school youth to pursue work in the public service sector, and local government units," she added.

Over the past week, the City of Government of Tacloban under the leadership of  Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez has been aggressive in providing jobs to unemployed individuals through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

Cruz urged job seekers to always visit their Facebook page PESO Tacloban for the latest updates of the said program. —Tacloban News Update (Reference/Source: Tacloban-CIO)
