NEWS BITES (TACLOBAN CITY) - A newborn baby was found abandoned in a street in Barangay San Juan, Ormoc City, police announced on Friday.
According to PLt. Rodolfo Merculita, OIC Station commander Ormoc Police Station 3, a concerned citizen saw the baby wrapped and still alive.
The baby was taken to a health center with the help of the police for medical attention.
The baby's mother was already identified and currently under investigation and assessment. Police have no information yet about possible charges.
At the same time, the baby will remain in the custody of Ormoc City Social Welfare and Development Office. iTacloban
