Tacloban City — The City Government of Tacloban, through Mayor Alfred Romualdez, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Land Bank management establishing a satellite office in North Tacloban for easier bank transactions.

According to Mrs. Ruth Ramirez, Chief of Staff of Northern Tacloban City Hall extension, the Land Bank satellite office is already inside the City Hall extension building in Brgy. 106 Sto. Niño. Said office is already accommodating residents in the northern part of Tacloban.

"Dako ini hin duro nga bulig para ha amon nga mga taga North Tacloban, kay pagsasakay pala tipa siyudad makuri na, malako pa hin pasahe ngan dako it karag nga oras- sanglit salamat gud kan Mayor Alfred nga may ada na kami Land Bank dinhi, (This is really a big help for us here in North Tacloban. Since the fare going downtown is so expensive and a waste of time. So we're very thankful for the help of Mayor Alfred for pursuing Land Bank to have an office here.)" Constancia, a resident from Northern Tacloban said.

The people of northern barangays of Tacloban City, or better known as North Tacloban, are experiencing difficulties in riding public utility vehicles going to the two Land Bank branches in Tacloban's downtown area since the Covid-19 pandemic started.

However, through the Land Bank satellite office, residents of North Tacloban can easily withdraw their money and avail themselves of other bank services.

North Tacloban is the home of displaced families relocated to several housing villages in the northern part of Tacloban. Most of them were affected and survivors of Supertyphoon Yolanda in 2013. Tacloban News Update (Source: Tacloban-CIO)
