Tacloban-CDRRMO declares blue alert status due to incoming tropical storm

TACLOBAN CITY, November 6-- The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMO) through Tacloban City CDRRM Council has declared today a blue alert status due to incoming tropical storm #TonyoPh.

In the said announcement (via Tacloban-CIO), the City Mayor and Chairman of the CDRRM Council Alfred Romualdez with CDRRM Officer Ildebrando Bernadas issued a BLUE ALERT STATUS ORDER to all CDRRMO staff and personnel, emergency responders and workers,  CSWDO Camp Coordination and Camp Management, all Departments and Offices of the City Government of Tacloban, and all Barangay DRRM Committees.

The order takes effect today, November 6, 2020 at 5:00 pm.

As of 7:00 o'clock this morning, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was heading towards the direction of Eastern Visayas and may likely reach the area tomorrow afternoon or evening. This weather disturbance may develop into Tropical Depression TONYO within the next 48 hours.

All concerned agencies and Barangay DRRM Committees (BDRRMCs) are then advised to comply with this BLUE ALERT ORDER and take necessary precautionary measures to prepare for the possible impact of a Low Pressure  Area to the entire Area of Responsibility of Tacloban City.  It is thus ordered that everyone be vigilant and closely monitor all eventualities in their areas of responsibility to ensure safety.

The CDRRMO will operate 24/7 under Blue Alert Status depending on succeeding Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued by PAGASA. (iTacloban with excerpts from Tacloban-CIO)
