Policewoman in Tagapul-an Samar, dead, accidentally shot herself

An in-depth investigation is underway in connection with the reported death due of a policewoman in Tagapul-an, Samar.

During the initial investigation, the victim was identified as Patrolwoman Floradim Tegero, 28, married, resident of Burauen, Leyte and assigned at the PNP Tagapul-an Station, who accidentally shot herself in the morning at 3 a.m. , November 3, right inside the police station.

At that time, Tegero and colleague Sgt. Cresilda Voz were on duty at the station and were stationed at the entrance of the office. According to Voz, the victim entered a room in the station and turned off the light. Just seconds later, Voz heard an explosion and smelled gunpowder right from the lock-up cell.
 
Voz turned on a flashlight in the area and saw Tegero lying on the floor with blood dripping from her head.

The sergeant  called the Rural Health Unit for help and Dr. Ian Cesar Norombaba checked the victim and declared Tegero dead.

The victim's 9mm rifle and ammunition were recovered from the scene. The Municipal PNP Station is already in contact with the SOCO (Scene of the Crime Operatives) to conduct a more thorough investigation.

There was no further information at the time of writing this notice as to whether the victim had a suicide note or statements of depression or problems before the incident. iTacloban
