Fix roads first before expensive light show, netizens demand

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines - San Juanico Bridge, an iconic tourist destination in the Philippines is set to have a spectacular lights display complete with musical accompaniment. This is because Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA)'s approval of an P80 million fund to brighten up the known structure.

80 Million budget to light up the San Juanico Bridge pero ito meron nabang budget para ayusin ang kalsada sa bridge?
Hopefully before ito malagyan ng mga ilaw sana naman ayusin muna ang kalsada. The pictures below was taken today (March 21, 2018) kung papasok kayo ng San Juanico Bridge from Tacloban marami diyan mga butas butas na kalsada at 60% ng bridge road is not in good condition due to it's rough road. I don't think so if ilang years nato hindi na aayos. Sana naman mapansin to ng ating gobyerno kasi as a rider it's not 100% safe na dumaan diyan sa bridge.
Restore our pride and tourist destination!

LIGHTS OR ROADS? Photo shows how uneven San Juanico bridge is.
Mondonedo is asking if there is also a budget for the road maintenance of the bridge since TIEZA already allocated a huge amount for the latter. He also provided pictures (see below) of San Juanico's broken roads.

Other netizen have also made remarks on the issue:

Kath Obero said: "This is also my sentiment, that the roads should be well-maintained because certain portions are broken. It will make it more holistic if the bridge is already lightened."

Meanwhile Louie Jay also have the same sentiment, he wrote: "Before the lights, we need to fix the road first because of its bumpiness." But for iTacloban, surely there's no logic if you have this ambitious project but you won't include repairing the whole of San Juanico.
