TACLOBAN CITY — A total of 240 beneficiaries of the city’s Socialized Housing Projects and Resettlement Programs from Barangay 3, Upper Nula-Tula received Certificates of Confirmation on April 19, 2022, bringing them a step closer to securing formal titles to their homes.
The certificates were distributed by the City Housing and Community Development Office (CHCDO) during an activity held in the barangay.
The beneficiaries have reportedly occupied their homes for more than two decades. The Certificate of Confirmation serves as documentation confirming their beneficiary status and ownership of their respective homes, with the issuance of formal titles as the next step.
The distribution was carried out in line with the directive of Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez to facilitate the issuance of the necessary documents to housing beneficiaries. The program also supports the implementation of Republic Act No. 7279, or the Urban Development and Housing Act of 1992.
Mayor Romualdez spearheaded the activity, joined by CHCDO Head Leonard Tedence Jopson, City Social Welfare and Development Office Head Chona Bahin, City Mayor’s Office representative Atty. Agnes Patcheco, Barangay Captain Salvador R. Altares, Homeowners Association President Luz E. Reyes, Philippine Commission on Urban Poor representative Sheryll Mate, and other city government representatives.
Beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the city government, saying the certificates recognize their long-standing occupancy and ownership of their homes and bring them closer to obtaining formal titles.
The activity forms part of the city government’s continuing efforts to provide documentation and security of tenure to beneficiaries of its socialized housing and resettlement programs.
