Tacloban celebrates 31st National Children's Month

TACLOBAN CITY – Children, parents, teachers, and officials from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) gathered for an engaging playground demonstration to commemorate the 31st National Children's Month at the Tacloban City Astrodome.

Led by CSWDO, spearheaded by Mrs. Fe Chona Bahin, City Social Welfare Officer, alongside Daycare workers and key representatives such as Marissa A. Comique, Marlyn I. Dugos, Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Coordinator, and Ronald B. Llaneta, Education Program Supervisor, representing Dr. Judella R. Lumpas, Schools Division Superintendent, the event was attended by children from 61 Day Care Centers across various barangays of Tacloban.

As part of the program, during the State of the Children Address (SOCA), Hon. Aurora Aimee Delgado-Grafil, representing Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez, highlighted the City government's initiatives for children, emphasizing early education through child development programs in the 138 barangays of Tacloban.

Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez also announced plans to establish an additional 35 Day Care Centers next year (2024), further enhancing educational opportunities for the city's young populace. —iTacloban (Source: CIO)
