Educators honored at Tacloban's World Teachers' Day celebration

TACLOBAN CITY –On World Teachers' Day, 60 elementary and secondary school teachers gathered in a heartfelt celebration at the Tacloban City Convention Center. The Department of Education Tacloban City Division organized the event with the theme "Guiding Lights of Growth: Teachers Fueling Minds, Sparking Transformation."

The event's highlight was the recognition of dedicated teaching and non-teaching personnel, including retirees of DepEd Tacloban. Schools Division Superintendent Judella Lumpas bestowed this recognition upon them, honoring their tireless dedication to education.

During an interview, Dr. Nilo Eder, the division's Information Officer, emphasized the noble profession of teaching and its crucial role in societal transformation. He spoke passionately about the impact teachers make, molding the minds of future generations.

The local government expressed its gratitude to these hardworking educators by providing a P1,000 monetary incentive to each teacher of DepEd Tacloban. This gesture was a token of appreciation for their continuous hard work and dedication to shaping the youth.

Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez has consistently expressed unwavering support for strengthening the alliance with the education agency. Their goal is to ensure the delivery of high-quality education to the city's young people, emphasizing the importance of education for a better future.
