TACLOBAN CITY – As part of the 29th Anniversary celebration of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the 6th year of the National Tech-Voc Day festivities, TESDA Leyte has hosted two notable job fairs under the banner of the World Cafe of Opportunities (WCO).

On August 25, 2023, at Robinsons North, Brgy. Abucay, Tacloban City, the WCO event was spearheaded by TESDA Leyte Provincial Director Vivian E. Abueva.

The venue had representatives from various national agencies, employers, TESDA Technological Institutions, and Private Technical Vocational Schools. A commendable turnout of 657 job seekers participated in the event. By the day's end, 20 attendees were hired on the spot, with an additional 249 listed as near-hires.

Meanwhile, on August 24, 2023, another WCO job fair occurred at the Town Center in Sogod, Southern Leyte. This event iteration was under the leadership of TESDA Southern Leyte Provincial Director Rolando V. Bade.

The primary objective remained the same: to offer TVET graduates opportunities for employment and additional assistance. This particular WCO saw participation from about 350 applicants. The event was graced by various government agencies, including PSA, SSS, OWWA, Philhealth, BIR, and DOLE, each extending their services. At the fair's close, 25 attendees were immediately hired, and another 21 were recognized as near-hires. —iTacloban (Source: TESDA-8)
