TACLOBAN CITY – In a collaborative effort to strengthen the implementation of the Enhanced-Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) for beneficiary barangays in Leyte, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Leyte and the 14th Infantry (Avenger) Battalion convened on May 2, 2023, at the DILG Provincial Office in Tacloban City.

The meeting, led by DILG Leyte Provincial Director Annabelle V. De Asis and 14th Infantry Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Edgar A. Gabia, brought together representatives from several government agencies, including the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office of Leyte, 802nd Infantry (Peerless) Brigade, 93rd Infantry (Bantay Kapayapaan) Battalion, Leyte Provincial Police Office (LPPO), 1st Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company (1LPMFC), and 2nd Leyte Provincial Mobile Force Company (2LPMFC).

Participants engaged in a productive dialogue to streamline service delivery and government programs under the E-CLIP framework for former CPP-NPA members who have surrendered to the government. Moreover, they identified potential programs from different government agencies to support barangays involved in the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP).

This cooperative initiative between the military and various government agencies underscores their commitment to delivering quality programs and services to communities affected by the poverty and instability resulting from the communist CPP-NPA-NDF insurgency. —iTacloban
