TACLOBAN CITY – This city's local government unit (LGU), through the dedicated efforts of the City Engineer's Office (CEO), has been tirelessly improving the city's drainage system and proactively responding to flooding problems.

On April 11, 2023, the hardworking CEO team cleared the waterways and canals in several areas, including Brgy. 6-A, Jones St., Senator Engage St., and Brgy. 78, Marasbaras, ensuring the swift flow of water and reducing the risk of flooding in these locations.

In line with their commitment to promoting safety and disaster preparedness, the CEO also carried out a crucial demolition operation in Brgy. 67, Anibong, designated as a "No Build Zone." The illegal structures were demolished to avoid any potential hazards that could arise from these structures during heavy rains or natural disasters.

Moreover, the CEO has been working closely with the barangay officials in Purok 3, Barangay 83-C, Taguictic, San Jose, to address the flooding problem in the low-lying area. The office conducted an extensive ocular inspection and provided high-quality filling materials to ensure that the site remains passable during rainy days while preventing potential flooding.

Furthermore, despite their hectic schedules, the CEO team took the time to visit the Panalaron Central School to check the quantity of filling materials needed for their landscaping project. The school requested garden soil materials, and the CEO promptly provided them, showcasing their dedication to serving the community. —iTacloban
