TACLOBAN CITY – In a consultative meeting held at the Bulwagan ng Karunungan, the Department of Education (DepEd) reaffirmed the commitment of local partner organizations' commitment to realizing the MATATAG Agenda.

The meeting, which took place at the Central Office in Pasig City on Tuesday, April 25, focused on aligning local partners with the agenda and introducing a proposed menu of education interventions to be achieved through partnerships.

DepEd and partner representatives discussed the distribution and classification of programs and projects, covering aspects such as regional disparity, grade levels, program types, and project scopes. DepEd Chief of Staff and Spokesperson Michael Poa emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration, stating, "The MATATAG Agenda is not merely a dream, it is a commitment."

Existing programs were examined for alignment with the MATATAG Agenda, and potential new programs were explored.

The updated menu of interventions allowed partners to identify and realign their projects to support the new education agenda. Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla expressed gratitude for the continuous efforts and valuable partnership, emphasizing the joint objective of achieving a Bansang Makabata and Batang Makabansa.

Partners expressed their willingness to address teacher welfare, proposing programs for capacity-building, scholarships, financial literacy, and health. Additionally, they pledged to support learners through well-being and health initiatives.

DepEd encouraged local partners to register with the newly-launched DepEd Partnership and Assistance Portal (DPAP) to access various schools' School Improvement Plans (SIP).

The event, attended by representatives from 92 private and public partner organizations, DepEd officials, and staff, was organized by the External Partnership Service. This marks the third meeting in preparation for the upcoming Partners Forum scheduled for May 25, 2023. —iTacloban
