TACLOBAN CITY – The City Government of Tacloban is gearing up for the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) Meet 2023, which is set to take place from April 23 to 28 in the city. The event is expected to bring together athletes from various schools in the region to compete in different sports categories.
According to Michael De la Peña, Officer-in-Charge of the City Sports Office, the city government is providing assistance to the organizers of the event to ensure its success. He said their office is assisting with the preparations for the EVRAA and fulfilling other obligations as the event's co-hosts.
The Department of Education - Leyte Division Office will host the EVRAA 2023, featuring various sports activities such as athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball, and football. The Leyte Sports Development Center, also known as the Grand Stand, has been chosen as the venue for the event.
To accommodate the athletes, the Leyte National High School and Rizal Central School have been selected as the official billeting areas. The schools will provide comfortable lodgings for the athletes and their coaches throughout the duration of the event.
The EVRAA is an annual multi-sporting event that aims to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among students in the Eastern Visayas region.
