Wanted person caught in Ormoc City while trying to secure police clearance

TACLOBAN CITY – A wanted man was arrested on Friday, February 3, at the Ormoc City Police Station. The 31-year-old suspect was trying to secure a police clearance when authorities found out through his records that he had a warrant of arrest for qualified theft issued by the Executive Judge of the 10th Judicial Region in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The suspect, a native of Agusan Del Sur and currently residing in Albuera, Leyte, was apprehended at around 11:35 a.m. at the National Police Clearance Office located on the ground floor of the OCPS1 Building in Barangay Cogon, Ormoc City.

The arrest was carried out by personnel of the Ormoc City Police Office and was recorded using a Body Worn Camera and an Alternative Recording Device. The suspect was informed of the reason for his arrest and his rights under the MIRANDA doctrine.

The warrant of arrest was issued by HON. KIMAL M SALACOP, Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 6 in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, with no recommended bail. The court of origin of the warrant has been notified of the suspect's arrest.
