Tacloban LGU extends deadline for business permit renewal

Tacloban City government extends the deadline for business permit renewal without penalty. Renewals can be processed through the Business One-Stop Shop or online through the e-payment system.

Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez has signed an ordinance that extends the renewal period for local business operators without penalty.

The city council approved an ordinance that extends the renewal period until February 3, 2023. This change resulted from inclement weather in recent weeks, which caused the suspension of government work.

Mayor Romualdez has recommended the two-week extension for business operators to process and apply for renewals without penalty or interest.

Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD) head Gemafiel Gaspay said that the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) will be open from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday and 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

Additionally, three satellite offices at Robinsons Marasbaras, Robinsons North, and Gaisano Real will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

For those who prefer to renew their business permits online, the city government has an e-payment system available at https://businessportal.tacloban.gov.ph. This system allows for the processing and payment of business permit renewals through the use of GCash, PayMaya, and Land Bank.

Currently, over 50% of the documents processed by the city government have been from the 7,956 registered businesses and 2,887 transportation businesses. —iTacloban (with reports from CIO)
