TACLOBAN CITY – Workers from the City Engineer's Office and the City General Services Office have begun clearing operations at the Leyte Park Hotel in preparation for its renovation by the local government. The property, which covers 6.13 hectares, was purchased through a deed of conditional sale by the government on December 1, 2022, and is set to become a tourist attraction and convention venue.

The Leyte Park Hotel, which was built in 1979, has fallen into disrepair in recent years, and the local government sees its renovation as an opportunity to revitalize the property and contribute to the growth of the region's tourism industry.
