TACLOBAN CITY – Two soldiers and a former Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member have been arrested in connection with a gas station holdup in Balangiga, Eastern Samar.

According to a report by John Consulta on "24 Oras," surveillance footage shows that three armed men wearing bonnets arrived at the gas station around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

One of the men pursued the gas station attendant while another approached the cashier's counter. Before the suspects fled with their loot, the cashier quickly concealed some of the money under her t-shirt.

The Eastern Samar Police Department immediately launched an investigation and apprehended the three suspects at a checkpoint. The suspects changed their clothes and hats in an attempt to avoid detection.

The victims were able to identify the suspects based on their appearance. The suspects were found with a silencer and three.45 caliber guns, one of which was an issued firearm of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the other two were loose firearms.

The investigation into whether the suspects were also involved in other robbery-holdup incidents in Samar is ongoing. —iTacloban
