Following the devastation caused by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng in the country, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) declares a state of calamity for the entire region.
In addition, the Province of Albay and the Municipality of Pigcawayan in Cotabato declared a state of calamity in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
During the onslaught of the tropical storm in the early morning of Friday, October 28, 2022, BARMM experienced widespread flooding, flash flooding, and landslides.
Since Monday, October 24, 2022, the region has experienced intermittent heavy rainfall prior to the arrival of the tropical cyclone.
