The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has partnered with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to conduct Philippine Identification System (PhilSys-ID) registration for its clients at the Central Office on September 19-23 to provide more effective and efficient service delivery.

104 DSWD clients who received assistance from the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program were accommodated and assisted in registering and processing their application for the national ID during the 5-day co-location partnership.

According to the Department, the PhilSys ID will benefit both the DSWD and its clients because the features of the ID allow for faster eligibility checks and digital payments, providing better and more access points for beneficiaries to receive social assistance.

Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo sought the co-location partnership, offering the Department's on-site registration facilities to make the DSWD's services more accessible to its target sectors in the long run.

Similarly, the activity was in line with the PSA's recommendation to the Department to identify areas where the PSA and the Department could co-locate to conduct PhilSys Registration for those who had not yet registered for the national ID. This is also in conjunction with the previously signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the two agencies for the Pilot Use Case in September 2021.

The DSWD pledged to improve social protection delivery and the overall experience of its beneficiaries by pursuing additional interventions such as the co-location partnership with PSA.
