The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Eastern Visayas, through the "Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services National Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services – Additional Financing (KALAHI-CIDSS NCDDP - Additional Financing)," has already completed 477 community-identified subprojects in 55 out of 116 target municipalities across the region.

An additional 283 community subprojects are set to be completed before the end of 2022.

Most of these completed subprojects include the construction of access roads, sea walls, river control structures, quarantine and isolation facilities, evacuation centers,  and various cash-for-work schemes.

As the government’s primary Community-Driven Development (CDD) program, KALAHI-CIDSS ensures that communities are empowered to identify, prioritize and implement community subprojects that are most appropriate to their needs.

Meanwhile, the 61 remaining municipalities are currently finalizing their Request for Fund Release and projected to carry out their own respective community subprojects in the last quarter of  2022. —iTacloban (Source: DSWD-8)
