Three individuals arrested in Tacloban North for illegal card game

TACLOBAN CITY – Three people were arrested for playing a card game in North Hill Arbours, Barangay 106 Sto. Niño, Tacloban City, according to a police report released on Thursday, June 9, 2022.

The suspects were identified by police as aliases "RUEL," "BAKI," and "SHERLY," all of whom were residents of the said barangay.

Elements of the TCPO, Police Station 3 Tracker team, led by PLT Angelo Leo Silvestrece and directly overseen and controlled by PMAJ Jose Gallanes Jr, Station Commander, conducted an anti-illegal gambling operation in accordance with the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO), resulting in the arrest of the suspects.


Said suspects were apprehended while playing a card game (tong-its), and P145 in bet money in various denominations and one (1) set of playing card were confiscated from their possession.

Arrested individuals were informed of their constitutional rights before being transported to Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) - Police Station 3 for proper disposition. —iTacloban
