TACLOBAN CITY – A 2-year-old boy died after being trapped in a burning house in Bañez Ville, Barangay 77, Tacloban City on Saturday, May 28.

Three other people, including the child's father, who was attempting to save him, were injured.

According to the Tacloban City Fire Station, the fire started in a two-story house made of light materials. The presence of foam on the second floor of the house aided the spread of the fire.

The incident caused an estimated P300,000 in damage and destroyed four houses.

Four families, totaling twenty-two people, were affected, including the family of the two-year-old boy who died.

Tacloban City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) then responded to provide initial assistance to the victims. According to CSWDO, all four families who lost their homes in this morning's fire are currently staying with their neighbors.—Tacloban News Update
